I made all my students talk about their last paper outloud. They are doing well this semester. I finally got my teaching assignment for next semester, so I was able to tell them my sections.

What I really like about “Stephen Fry in America” – great landscapes and slices of states and it makes me want to travel like to the Rockies. And when Stephen meets weird people or things he doesn’t hesitate to point out the ridiculousness. The states along the Mississippi are the least interesting to me. I prefer forests and mountains. Although the desert in Utah and New Mexico did look very interesting.

Watched “Glee” in the evening. It still surprises me that I suddenly started to like the show. I still need to catch up on the last half of Season 1 (I Netflixed Season 2 already).

It is a very rainy day. I’m postponing going to the store to get milk and orange for my cranberry bread until tomorrow but it will probably rain then too. At least I didn’t have to go to work today.

Some links/interesting internet finds of the day:

A fun article on Media and creation of Black Friday , according to Cracked. Sometimes you need humor to really appreciate the situation. I refuse to shop for Christmas/New Year presents until December and whole commercials promoting Black Friday just seem crazy. And I never met anyone who bought a car as a holiday present.

“Stephen Fry In America” is on Neflix Instant and so I have to watch it, of course, since he is brilliant. I really enjoyed the first two episodes – he shows America and its diversity and vastness rather well.

Leonard Cohen is releasing a new album, “Old Ideas”! I’m very excited. Jan. 31, 2012. There is a song preview – his voice is even deeper. So good.
