This journal is to keep track of my life. I love books and TV and seeing what other people think of books and TV (and movies) and that is my main distraction. I love sci-fi and good storytelling. I was born in Minsk, Belarus, when it was Soviet Union, and I came to New York when I was twelve and Belarus was its own country for the first time. I'm a Russian-American Jewish woman who studied medieval England, mostly social and legal history, but knows way too much about Catholic church and its history. I taught history and college writing for many years but left academia for a city job. I'm married to a wonderful man whom I've met at eighteen on the second day of college and started dating a week later. We dated for 14 years before finally getting married. I call him Bear. I have two young daughters: Tatyana Carolina, whom we call Tanya for short, and Olivia Elizabeth. I read, I cross-stitch, I write, I cook, I used to rollerblade but mostly I have to take care of small kids. I love fandom but I don't read much fanfic anymore, although I still write it sometimes for fests.
