This morning I had a fairy lazy morning. It is raining and with five hours of sleep it feels like a lazy Sunday. I made Bear oatmeal for breakfast. Then I downloaded pictures from the restaurant. We also got a professional picture done in the restaurant last night. Bear had to leave for work, by until eleven when he left we relaxed and read our books together. He read that new Harry Dresden story I picked up.

After Bear left, I caught up on the summer finale of “Leverage” online.
Some people online were uncomfortable in that Nate put Parker in the position to seduce the guy and that was a bit weird to watch. Hardison pulling fire alarm on his cellphone was really cool. I like Parker’s present to FBI guy. Not a bad season so far.

I spent the afternoon reading rough drafts and using a “Highlander” episode as a reward. Every five brain numbing papers that can’t use quotes or know what a topic sentences is and tell me how religion provides morality or, the opposite, that religion should stay out of science because science doesn’t need morals to do its job, I get some sort of a TV episode. Then I have enough sanity to point to logical flaws in their ‘arguments’ and to tell them to be less vague.

Highlander “The Modern Prometheus” Again, one of those episodes I saw early one as I watched Season 2, I think. I love this episode. All the gray ambiguities and exploring art, and life and death and losing passion. And the use of poetry in the episode worked extremely well. Mac finishing the poem right before he kills Byron was just nicely done. And so was the Quickening. And Methos has an awesome flashback. And the whole Byron/Methos sexual tension and the threesome thing. Not often done on TV and it was great of them to go there. And Methos was so happy to see Byron again in the beginning of the episode. The actor who played Byron was wonderful in the role. Methos does seem like a certain type of girl who is very opposite of the type of guy he attaches himself too (I saw a comment on that somewhere and I really agree). It is a great dynamic that remains very consistent actually, so good job writers.

Bit of Hugh and Laurie. S1E5. The teacher sketch where everything Hugh Laurie tries to teach about “Romeo and Juliet” is met by black stares was hilarious in its accuracy of what it sometimes feels like to be a teacher.

“True Blood” S3E12. The best season so far of this show. That was a perfect end to Russell, not truly dead, but encased in concrete, with a possibility of him coming back. Sookie was on fire, disinviting all vampires, pouring Talbot down the drain. Eric showed up just in time to finally, finally tell Sookie the truth about Bill – both being sent by the Queen and letting the two in the pilot episode beat Sookie up so that he could save her and feed her blood to stir the attraction. That really woke Sookie up for she was wavering there. Bill was such an ass in tonight’s episode. Eric got the best line, commenting to Bill and Alcide “if you are finished eye fucking each other..” Hee. Jason and Tara both grew up tonight. Giving Jason all that responsibility suits him really well. The only thing I don’t like is Sam shooting Tommy. Why do you have to make sweet Sam so horrible? Tara’s haircut suits her. So the cliff hangers: Tara leaves town, Jesus is a witch and so if Lafayette, Sam is a murderer, Bill is in a fight to the death with Sophie-Anne, Sookie disappeared into fairy land. Can’t wait for next season and Eric losing his memory. What was with the doll in Hoyt and Jessica’s new place?
