Dec. 30th, 2010 09:27 pmI did an extra thorough cleaning of my bathroom today since tomorrow is New Years and Mama wanted to have everything extra clean. Tomorrow I will tidy up my room – there are too many books and papers all over. Mama already started cooking a little today. I’m so looking forward to our New Year feast. Lots and lots of tasty holiday food. There will be beef tongue. Yummy. New Year is a very big deal for us. For me, after my birthday, it was my favorite time of year. And not just because I got presents on January 1st although I am looking forward to that and the books Papa will give me and giving Bear his present. But also I liked going over to my Aunt’s house when I was little or, now, just gathering with my family with a table full of food. And the New Year does always feel like a new beginning. I always spent New Year with family without fail.
I was also resorting my CD collection today, since that shelf was a bit messy. I sort them by theme - British bands, mixed CDs, regular American artists of various decades and older classic cds, Russian cds, musicals, movie soundtracks and tv show soundtracks cds, classical music and opera cds, etc. Long time ago my CDs were alphabetized but I don’t even remember when I stopped that. My tapes, which I rarely listed too are still alphabetized. My DVDs are mostly alphabetized, although I separate my TV and movie DVDs and all my Russian DVDs. My books are not sorted in any particular order: they are usually sorted by height or genre (all my history books are together) although all my penguin classic books are alphabetized by author.
Since I was in New Year mood I watched “Friends” New Year episode from Season 5. And I also discovered that Disk Three in that season which has my favorite episode of “Friends” ever, “The One Where Everyone Finds Out,” is scratched. That sucks.
I finished National Geographic December issue – there is a bat fungus that has been killing hibernating bats since 2006, which is not the best news ever.
To counteract sad animal news here are some cute and inquisitive polar bears.
