Jun. 29th, 2010 09:51 pmI spent the morning alternating work (which right now is mostly editing) with some internet (Internet is my incentive to work now – I spent a certain time on Frelling Dissertation, I get certain internet time. So far, it just might work!) It is still a wonder to me sometimes when I edit something I wrote a while ago that it actually sounds sort of intelligent.
My afternoon was less fun, but at least the prognosis for life suckage going away is better than yesterday.
This is an article from USAToday on interfaith marriage in a Jewish community. I don’t like how some rabbis only accept such couples in their community if the children would be raised Jewish. So once a person becomes a parent, their own spiritual needs end, if they are into that sort of thing. I only ever go to services on high holy days, if then, and I’m never comfortable with any kind of institutional worship, in general, probably because I grew up an atheist and Judaism for me is a more social activity. Still the article is a good read.
