bearshortyWorld Cup. That first half was so boring that I just went upstairs. I did come down for the second half and overtime with my cross stitch. So I was more listening to the game than just watch it. Everyone just kept missing free kicks and generally, this was one weird game. Why are all these players just rolling on the ground as if they are so hurt, while obviously faking? I want to see some decent soccer and not consistent penalties. I hoped that Netherlands would win but I am not that invested this year.
I wanted to throw things at my TV when it froze right before a new “True Blood” episode. I rebooted the system but that took over five minutes and I missed the cold open where Bill calls Sookie. I will catch that scene tomorrow, but I was definitely mad at my TV.
True Blood. S3E4. That was one heartbreaking episode.
The most effective scenes for me were with Bill in a stripper bar picking out dinner. The way the women looked like they were already dead inside and the conversation the stripper had with Bill about the lack of love in the world and the way vampires ate her was just affecting. The dripping blood was really disturbing. This show does not romanticize vampires in any way – when they feed, it is bloody and vicious. Bill is much more interesting character this season.
My second favorite part was Eric’s daydream about Sookie. At first I thought it was Sookie dreaming again, but then in the middle of it I figured out it was Eric and his longing for someone to understand him. He feels that might be Sookie. And Eric’s pain on having Pam in danger was very vivid too. He is definitely my favorite character.
Poor Tara – being even in more danger with a creepy vampire. Sam’s storyline is still not that interesting. Werewolves continue to be creepy too. I like this season.
I have to get up at five in the morning tomorrow, if I can manage to sleep and not be too anxious. Tomorrow needs to be a good day.
