In view of upcoming “Toy Story 3,” I decided to rewatch the previous installments, especially since I don’t remember much of the plot. So I got “Toy Story” on Netflix and I watched it today. And then I watched it again with commentary. I can’t believe this movie came out fifteen years ago as the animation still stands up really well. I highly recommend the commentary since they make you notice little details, like rude gestures Mr. Potato Head makes, which could be lost in the background. The story was very well done. I forgot that the human family in the story has a single mother and a little sister. But this movie is very much a boy movie. But then Pixar, for all its brilliance and wonderful storytelling, has not told a story from a female perspective yet.
