TV Meme: Questions 16-46
Apr. 15th, 2019 11:06 am16. are there any shows on your “to watch” list right now?
I watch to watch the rest of Doctor Who Season 11 - I only watched the first episode. It's downloaded on my laptop but for some reason when I tried downloading it onto my tablet, the sound wouldn't work. I can only watch it on my laptop when my Mom isn't staying over and when I'm not busy in the evenings, which is not a lot of time. But I'm hoping to do it soon. I liked the first episode.
17. Netflix, Hulu, or Prime originals?
Netlfix. I don't have the other ones, nor do I want to.
18. if you could be a guest star on any show, which one would it be?
Star Trek just because it would be really cool to wear that uniform.
19. if you could write your own TV show, what would it be like?
I don't know. Something sci-fi probably.
20. are you a fan of will-they-won’t-they plots?
Yes, as long as there is a good positive resolution that isn't dragged on for too long. Looking at you Bones which resolved it in an off-screen way. And at you Star Trek: Voyager who lost it in the season finale. I loved Janeway and Chakotay - you could have threw them a bone show and not left it for post series novels.
21. how do you feel about bottle episodes?
They can be excellent. I like the focus on the characters. "Midnight", a Doctor Who episode that takes place on pretty much just one set, is my favorite Doctor Who episode.
22. do you prefer proper opening credits, or a simple title card?
Depends on opening credits. Some are great and some I skip through. I do like that Netflix feature.
23. favourite TV show theme song?
True Blood
24. which actor do you think deserves an Emmy for their work on TV?
Many on genre shows that are usually unacknowledged.
25. who would be your dream cameo on your favourite show?
I don't think I have a favorite show right now. One of the Avengers can appear on the Agents of Shield - that would be fun.
26. do you tend to quote TV shows a lot? have you ever started using a word/phrase because of a TV show?
Sometimes. I usually quote more movies. But for a silly example, I don't say "moot point" anymore, I always say "moo point, like a cow's opinion, it doesn't matter", quoting Joey from "Friends". I love the silliness.
27. what’s one show you could probably write a 2,000 word essay on, and what would be your topic?
I would rather write something about books.
28. do you use subtitles while watching TV if you can?
Yes, movies too. I just like having them on, in case I miss something.
29. what’s one show you could watch over and over?
Friends
30. would you be interested in trying a show in another language?
Sure. Although I tend not to.
31. what are your top 5 shows right now?
1. Supernatural
2. Flash
3. Doctor Who
4. Agents of Shield
5. Good Place
I actually don't watch as many shows anymore so it was hard to pick. A great show with only 6 episodes I watched recently was "After Life" on Netflix. I loved that one.
32. who are your top 5 TV characters right now?
1. Dean Winchester
2. Barry Allen
3. 13th Doctor
4. Jemma Simmons
5. Michael Burnham
33. what TV character would you die for?
None. They are not real.
34. which TV show setting would you most like to visit?
A space ship
35. do you prefer hour long episodes, or 30 minute?
Either
36. do you prefer 22 episode seasons, or 13?
Lately 13 - they have fewer fillers.
37. is there a show coming out soon that you’re really excited about?
Good Omens
38. if you could change 1 detail about any show, what would you change and why?
Star Trek Voyager finale. I would just take out the stupid Seven of Nine plot out.
No 39?
40. what do you think is a good amount of seasons for a TV show?
Five to Seven. It's rare when longer is worth it.
41. if you could replace any actor on TV in playing their role, who would you like to play and why?
I wouldn't. I'm not good at acting.
42. do you own any TV shows on DVD?
Yes: Star Trek: TNG, Friends, Buffy, Angel Season 5, Community Seasons 1-3, Dollhouse, Torchwood: Children on Earth, Rome.
43. do you prefer to watch TV alone or with friends?
Depends. I usually watch it alone. When I was in grad school, Medusa and I watched "Angel" "Farscape" and "Doctor Who" together and that was a lot of fun. I could be snarky.
44. are there any shows you love but your friends aren’t interested in?
Yes, my two best friends are not into sci-fi. We generally don't talk about TV. Bear generally prefers movies to TV so I don't get to talk to him either. I usually talk with my Dad about TV since we have similar interests.
45. are there any shows your friends love but you aren’t interested in?
Possibly but again I rarely talk to my friends about TV. My parents do like these stupid Russian shows that often have guns and shootings that I don't want to see.
46. who are your favourite couples on TV?
In the past: Kurt and Blaine, Jack and Ianto, FitzSimmons, Monica and Chandler, Willow and Tara, Luke and Lorelai, Charlotte and Harry (Sex in the City). And Janeway and Chakotay, although there were not canon.
