2018 in Movies

I watched 16 movies this year. None in the movie theater. I haven't been to the movie theater since June 2016. We usually watch movies over two nights since once the kids go to bed and the kitchen is cleaned up there is not too much time until bedtime. It was a good year for movies for me. I liked pretty much all the movies, some more than others. But there were no movies I actively disliked.
I didn't put any kid movies on my 2018 movie list that Tanya watched in pieces so I would watch a scene here or there (like Boss Baby (which is terrible) and Secret Life of Pets, Lion King, or Tanya's 4 favorites: Little Mermaid, Princess and the Frog, Moana and Frozen). Coco I watched my myself first, and Trolls I watched by myself after Tanya watched it over and over again - that was a cute movie - so those do go on my list.
List of movies I watched in 2018:
1. Wonder Woman (Jan 6-7)
2. Spiderman Homecoming (Jan 13-14)
3. Dunkirk (Jan 27-29)
4. Mudbound (Feb 24,25, 27)
5. Thor Ragnarok (Apr 28-30)
6. The Incredibles (May 26-28) – rewatch
7. Coco (June 16-18)
8. Last Jedi (July 3, July 6-7)
9. Black Panther (Aug 4-5)
10. Mockingjay Part 1 (Sept 8-9)
11. Shape of Water (Sept 26)
12. Mockingjay Part 2 (Sept 22, Sept 30)
13. Trolls (Nov 23-24)
14. Dumplin' (Dec 8-9)
15. Deadpool 2 (Dec 14-15)
16. Avengers: Infinity War (Dec 29-30)
My favorite movie of the year was Thor Ragnarok - great mix of action and funny. It just worked well for me. Spiderman Homecoming and Deadpool 2 come close behind.
It would be easier to talk about movies I was more meh about.
Wonder Woman was ok but not as good as Marvel movies. No surprise there. Black Panther was ok but I found the first half a little confusing so it is not my favorite Marvel movie - it was much better in the second half. Shape of Water was ok too. I didn't think it was all that special. Mudbound was a good movie but I didn't enjoy watching as much as others on this list. Mockingjay movies were good but just as depressing as the book they are based on so not something I would want to watch again.
