bearshortyIt's very hot today. I walked outside at 7:30am to get bags from my Mom's car and the humidity just hit me. Hot July is here.
In the morning, I had to unpack from our trip and make Tanya some breakfast (Farina this morning). Bear then left for work, trying not to cross paths with my Mom - it was pretty funny, really. She actually needed him today to bring the bags from the car, but he left already so hence my walk outside. I was going to do the exercise bike when my Mom got here but she figured it would be better if Tanya and I went to the playground early from 8am to 9am, instead of our usual 9:30 to 11, so it wouldn't be ridiculously hot yet. I didn't eat anything yet but it really made sense, so I grabbed an apple and off we went.
The playground was pretty empty and had a little shade. We did some swings, threw water balloons (all kids on the playground do this all summer, so naturally Tanya wants too and all parents get the water balloons at the convenient dollar store nearby. I have mastered the trying of the water balloon now), ran around.
Once we got back home by 9:20, I did go on the exercise bike for 20 minutes and watched "Agents of Shield" while my Mom read to Tanya (and cooked her some cutlets). In the last few weeks I've been getting some more exercise. We do have a bike at home after all. I'm trying to make an effort. Then I made breakfast, showered, ate the breakfast. Or more accurately, Tanya fed me. I was sitting on the couch with my oatmeal and she took my spoon and was feeding me, saying "Tanya kormit Mamu. Zhui, Mama" (Tanya is feeding Mama. Chew, Mama). Well, it gets her to practice spoon skills.
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful since we stayed at home because of the heat. Usually, my Mom leaves by naptime on the day she comes to cook for Tanya and just visit, but there was traffic so she stayed longer. And cooked my chicken that I was defrosting for dinner. Which is great and tasty but it left me with nothing to do in the evening. Tanya and I played with probably every toy she had. We usually go outside in the afternoon and cook but today it was just a very long stretch of time.
Yeva was going to come over around 4pm but she works night shifts now and was too tired. She's about to stop by now, around 10pm.
Hot tomorrow too. This week is certainly different.
I'm on Chapter 2 of "Master and Margarita." I couldn't get into it when I was young, but I think I'm at a perfect age for it, knowing lots of history too and getting a lot of references. I really like it now and it is definitely holding my attention.
