bearshortyI'm too tired for a real post right now. I had to stay later at work for Folder Review - a meeting with one of the program directors. So I'm going to do a meme for fun. Taken from hamsterwoman
1. Have you ever been to Costco?
Many, many times. I don't have membership but my parents too. It's their primary store so if I'm visiting we would often go. I don't go that much now but I got my glasses there last time I went. I love it. And I can have snacks.
2. Have you ever been to a casino?
Yes. I've been to Atlantic City twice. Once to just visit it for a day trip and once to see Alla Pugacheva in concert (which was awesome). So we stopped by to see the grandeur and decorations. And I've been in a casino on a cruise. I don't really like casinos all that much. They bore me after a while. I usually play like $10 on the slot machines, just for fun, but that gets tiring after a bit. And I'd rather see sunlight.
3. Do you love or hate olives?
Hate. Can't eat them.
4. When was the last time you got delivery food?
We rarely do take out or delivery but on Tuesday a week ago my friend Yeva came over and I ordered food from a Uzbekistani restaurant. They delivered pretty fast. Very tasty food.
5. Have you ever visited a sex shop?
Yes. I've been to Babeland in the city (Manhattan) twice. Once with a friend and once by myself. It is a very lovely store. Very classy.
6. How many sets of keys do you have for your house?
I want to say four. One for me, one for Bear, one for my parents since they come over a lot to watch Tanya and one that Bear's parents keep for emergencies.
7. When was the last time you saw a movie in theaters?
I saw Star Wars in the movie theater in December on opening weekend. It was the first movie I saw in the movie theater in about two years.
8. What brand is your laptop or computer?
My laptop is HP Envy. This wasn't my choice - it was a gift from my parents. It doesn't quite fit me but it does its job. Before that I had Toshiba which was fine but got real slow by the end there. My favorite one was a pink Sony Vaio I had before that but the screen crapped out after three years and it was cheaper to get a new computer. I was sad about that. And before that I had a trusty Dell that lasted for eight years. They don't make them to last anymore.
9. How many cousins do you have?
I have four first cousins. Two older ones, Katya and Sasha (short for Alexander), who are my mother's sister's kids and who I call my sister and brother. Sasha is only six months older than me so we grew up together. And two younger ones, Anna and Pavel, who are my father's brother's kids. Lots of second and third cousins. My daughter won't have any first cousins, which is a little sad.
10. Do you use Instagram? How often do you post there?
I don't use it.
11. What’s your favorite brand of beer?
I don't drink beer. If I had to I would order a cider, but I prefer wine or a cocktail in the rare instance that I get a drink.
12 . When was the last time you high-fived someone?
Today weirdly. I was heading home and walking in the subway when I encountered a person who tries to sell you things (I forgot the name for that). She was trying to promote an organic food delivery service website. When she mentioned that the website partnered with Jamie Oliver, I mentioned that I had one of his cookbooks. So she did a high-five.
13. Have you ever dyed your hair a very different color from your natural?
I try to dye my hair as close to my exact shade as possible. I got a lot of gray hair due to genetics, so I've been dyeing my hair since I was 32. But I do try to match my hair color. I always liked my hair color (It's brown).
14. Are there any posters or artworks hanging in your living room?
Let's see. Right above the TV is our framed ketubah (a Jewish marriage contract), which looks like this , with interfaith text. Then, close to Bear's weight bench by the window is a poster of John Cheese at a desk with the phrase "And Now For Something Completely Different." Above Bear's desk in the corner of the living room, there is a framed 8x10 drawing he did in white chalk on black paper of a polar bear. This was a present for me for our 10th dating anniversary. And there are some postcards from our travels above his desk and on my bookcase.
15. How many times have you been to the beach?
Loads. I can't count. We live about 10 minutes by car from a beach and my parents live 5 minutes by car. When I stay with them in the summer we like to go a lot. I also like beach vacations and been to many beeches.
16. Have you ever ordered anything from Amazon?
All the time. It is my to go online store. Although, now they raised free shipping to $49 so I might be using it less. I just don't want to get Prime.
17. Do you have cushions on your couches?
There are two pillows. We have a futon.
18. Have you ever had a scary encounter with a wild animal?
Not a wild animal, no. But I'm afraid of dogs so I get scared pretty easily by them.
19. How many piercings do you have?
Just my earlobes. I'm not interested in any others.
20. Do you play an instrument?
Not really. I took piano in high school for three years and I had some guitar lessons as a kid but I'm not really any good at it. I did learn to read music and I can play a basic tune but that's about it.
