After two and a half days of being alone with a baby, it was so nice today to have visitors. My parents came back from vacation last night and came over bright and early this morning and stayed until 5pm. So I had a nice and relaxing day and got a lot done.

Most importantly I cleaned the whole apartment in the morning, while my Dad either played with Tanya or took her for a walk. I cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed, washed the floors, took out the garbage, sorted clothes for laundry. Usually the bathroom is my chore while Bear is in charge of the floors but we've been away and on silly schedules so the place needed it. And it feels nice to have a clean place and to be productive. And I feel wonderful that I was able to do chores.

My Mom cooked borsch and also made meat and veggies in the slow cooker and my Dad later also bought lots of fruit like cherries and strawberries and apricots. Best part of summer is the fruit.

Tanya and I did ok in our time together too - I even cooked and made rice pilaf with fresh mushrooms with chicken broth base, eggplant stir fry and chicken - but being with a clingy baby without a break was a bit tough. She refuses to be in the play yard by herself and needs me near a lot.

We did go to the playground a lot more, which is nice. It is hot outside this week but with a bit of wind.

My parents brought me back a nice dolphin T Shirt and really short black beach shorts from their trip and a type of beach bandana. Also a butterfly hair pin. Tanya got a little crocodile stuffed toy, bathing suit and new shirts. There was a tshirt and baseball cap for Bear too. Plus, before they left my Mom picked up new Sketchers sneakers for me at Macy's because I wanted to go buy new sneakers for a while and she knows my style. They are gray and purple and fit really well. They brought them over today too. Yay, presents.

Last night I also stayed up reading a lot. Once I get to the last 5th of the book I tend to read faster. I finished 'Kosmobiolukhi' by Olga Gromyko and Andrei Ulanov, in Russian. It was recommended to me as a sitcom Sci fi and it totally was. I loved the humor in it and I giggled a lot. My Dad liked the last third of the book, where all the action is but I actually loved the middle third where the two crews misinterpret each other. I did guess who the cyborg was by the time the reveal happened but plot twists were still interesting. My Dad is going to email me the second book soon but I'm going to read a non fiction book first. I did promise my Dad I would read one book Russian and this was a fun one. I wish there was a translation so Bear could have read it too but I think a lot of the humor would be lost.

I also finally managed to finish "Grace and Frankie" on Netflix. I did enjoy the series, particularly the friendship and the humor and most of the characters grew on me a lot, except Sol. And I like the realism of the situation - letting go of 40 years of marriage is not easy. I liked the show, but I didn't fall in love with it. I will watch Season 2, though. It definitely got better as it went along.
