This has been a long week. Mostly that was because Bear was leaving for work at 8:30 to 9am and coming back at 10pm or 11pm, because he has a split shift at work during sessions, and his parents are in their 70s so they can't help with Tanya that much. So I was basically on 24/7 duty with a little time off in the morning to take a shower. I'm looking forward to the next two days when Bear is not working and I might have a chance to catch up on 'Supernatural'.

But it is nice to visit, despite my tiredness and walk anxiety with the dogs. On Tuesday we visited Bear's grandmother's sister at the nursing home. She is around 95 now and is the last remaining of 9 siblings. Bear's grandmother used to be in the same nursing home and we used to visit a lot. It is a very nice place, Catholic, with a chapel there and lots of retired nuns. It's not a standard nursing home type. Anyhow, her daughter Annie was visiting from Las Vegas so it was great to see her and introduce them both to Tanya. They seen pictures and it is much better to meet in person. Tanya was the center of attention. All the residents would pause and stop by to say hi when they saw a baby, and she looks super cute since she is a baby. And many knew Carolina, Bear's grandmother, so it was nice.

The weather this week is a little chilly, mostly in the 60s F, but the skies are blue the last few days. Yesterday when I was out walking, I was trying really hard to use all the senses to appreciate the day, especially hearing. The wind and the birds, etc. It's a good exercise.

Today, John, Bear's brother, and Laurie, his significant other, came over for dinner. John and Bear were doing yard work for their parents for a while the girls were all chatting in the kitchen. Laurie brought over two boxes of baby clothes from her sister and Tanya had to take all of them out of the box to play with. At least that's better than crawling everywhere, opening drawers and pulling up by the plant to rip the leaves off.

I helped with dinner by making boiled potatoes with fried onion and mushrooms. Bear's Dad did the steak and chicken on the grill. We had corn and salad and sweet potato too. I even gave Tanya a bit of potato as finger food so she could join in the fun.

Today also, I was eating a white peach. Bear was holding Tanya in the kitchen when he came home from work early at 4pm. As I was eating the peach, I gave Tanya some to try. I just held the peach to her mouth and she liked to nibble and bite a little. She held my thumb so I wouldn't just take it away. Then she ate a little and then guided my hand to Bear's mouth for him to take some, then back to hers. At some point she guided my hand back to me too, do I got to have it too. It was very cute.

Bear and I are both turning 35 in June. So I had an idea that we can read Dante together as a year project. We can do 2 cantos a week and share the book. He never read it but wanted to read Inferno at least (because of a video game), and I read Inferno twice, in high school and college (and even wrote a paper on it), Purgatory once as a TA, and I never read Paradise. So it would be fun and a new perspective from being an age Dante was in the first book. Now we just have to find a copy of the book that I gave to Bear a few years ago.
