bearshortyThere was such drama at the doctor's office today. Tanya had her appointment to get the rest of 4 months vaccination shots. Usually there is some wait for the appts; ours was for 11 so if someone comes with me, they walk outside with the stroller while Tanya naps. My Mom came this time since she was taking us back to her house for New Years later that afternoon.
So, I was waiting inside and after me this very young woman came in with a 4 year old. She was on the phone while he played in the play area a bit. Then he got bored and winy. Maybe around 11:30, the woman asks Masha, the nurse, how long she still has to wait and when Masha said she was still with a patient, the young Mom blew up that she was out of there with some language. Masha tried to accommodate asking me to wait in the usual well-baby room, while doctor deals with the woman first.
I went to get Mom and Tanya and we settled in, got Tanya ready. Meanwhile from across the hall the Doctor is dealing with the woman. We hear more cursing. Apparently the 4 year old with a deep cough didn't want to be examined or something. Then a manager of the clinic got involved. And while the doctor was complaining about the unacceptable behavior, the woman stormed off cursing some more.
Now I can understand both Masha and the Doctor being upset, but they kept on going over the situation with others in the office, debating if office manager was in the room when the woman was cursing or not. But both we and another patient was waiting. Both nurse and Doctor were super distracted during our appointment and I had a few questions to ask. I wanted some attention too. I had to track down 5he Doctor since she left the room so quickly to ask a question. There should have been a little more professionalism on their part.
Tanya got her shots but I felt frustrated with the appointment. On top of this, another nurse tried to start the appointment but she was visibly sick, going into a room with a 5 months old baby, a room that is supposed to be only for well babies. Good thing she left quickly and Masha came in.
Here is hoping 6th month appointment will go better.
Tanya did try a little strained carrot mixed with a little milk today - she does like to try food and she stares at us as we eat.
We are now at my parents' house and Bear will join us on the 31st. Tomorrow the cooking for New Year feast with begin.
