Today just flew by. We didn't do much and yet it passed fast. My parents came over very early, at 8:30 to bring food, laundry and sour cherries they picked on a farm in New Jersey yesterday. I was up since 5:50, so it wasn't that early for me but still. Bear and I did some food shopping, I watched some TV, read a book, cross stitched and we watched an episode of original "Star Trek" with dinner. Doesn't seem like much but the day passed quickly. I pulled a muscle in my upper back night before last, so I wasn't up to much but I did try to move around and at least go for a walk.
I seem to be having lots of little accidents. On Friday, I was cooking dinner (Bear was at work late). I was making eggplant stir fry on the front burner and I was putting in angel hair pasta on the back burner. I underestimated how big my giant eight months pregnant stomach is now and accidentally leaned too forward and touched a hot frying pan with said stomach for like a second. Got a little blister and the pain went away pretty quickly but still unnerving. Had to break out first aid kit we have for some burn cream. And now I pulled the back. Fun times.
Yesterday, we did manage a really fun day, though. Bear's best friend Jeremy and his fiancee Fran came over to visit us from Long Island for the afternoon and evening. We went to this Malaysian restaurant on 86th street and then to Coney Island for a bit. I've never had Malaysian before but it was very close to Thai food and I've been wanting Thai for a while now. And the Coney Island walk was very nice - the weather was just fabulous. Bear, Jeremy and Fran even went on the Cyclone roller coaster, while I cheered them on. (Even if I wasn't pregnant, I wouldn't have gone on it - I'm not a big roller coaster fan.) We got a really great picture out of it. They also brought over a delicious pie and I got to break out my new fancy china that my parents got us a year ago but that we finally set up in our house. So we had tea and pie from fancy cups and plates. Fun day but it did wear me out a little bit.
