bearshortyI spent the day in the city today, hanging out with Yeva and meeting up with Marianna for lunch. I had an appointment in the city and Yeva wanted to come with me, which I really appreciated. But, of course, she was late to get to my place so we set out a little later than I wanted. And with the subway running super slowly today (I think there was a water break) it took us a while and I was late. But no matter, everything worked out.
And we had fun after just walking down the Upper East Side, stopping at various stores. I got my favorite soap at Sephora by Occitane d'Provence. Bear likes it a lot too so that would be a nice surprise for him, since I don't get it often.
While we were waiting at a Barnes and Noble for Marianna to be on her lunch break, we had a 'good fortune' to be in the Barnes and Noble where Snooki was signing a book. I never watched "Jersey Shore" nor did I ever wanted too but the cultural knowledge did filter into my brain. I did try to stay away from the part of the store where a book signing took place. Why couldn't it have been someone actually interesting?
Lunch itself was great. I really wanted a burger and I had a most delicious one with avocado and nice tomato and arugula. And french fries. There was so much food that I didn't feel like even eating dinner.
