Jun. 13th, 2013 10:16 pmYesterday Bear and I went to a Broadway show. Every year for my birthday Bear gets me tickets for a show I want. And this year we went to see "Once." I love the movie and the songs, and this musical adaptation of the movie won a Tony last year for Best Musical. What I didn't know, and what I didn't find out until I looked at the Playbill in my seat (I was cross stitching when I was watching/listening to the Tony's this year, so I didn't see who was singing from "Once" then), was that the main character is played by Arthur Darvill - who played Rory Williams on "Doctor Who." He was really, really good at singing and guitar playing too. Since he was my favorite in the Moffat era, it was a treat. And after the show there was a place set up where actors came out and signed and I got my playbill signed by both main actors and a picture with Arthur Darvill. And I made sure to tell him how much I appreciated his work as Rory and as well as in the musical. He was so tired but he signed and took pictures with everyone - so classy of him.
Before the show, and I dressed up and wore my nice black dress and pearls, we walked around a little. We also stopped by at Toys R Us - where I picked up a World Geography puzzle game (I want to finally master African counties) and had dinner at this Chinese place on 7th and 37th where I often end up eating at midtown.
Today, I didn't have to go to work until two, which was nice to sleep in. It turns out, I rock at petitioning. I really didn't know how I can persuade people. And I got to have dinner with a few other interns, which was very nice.
