Yep, I have a cold. Mostly a terrible sore throat. It is not very comfortable. Which is probably why I woke up at 7:30 even when I couldn’t fall asleep last night until pretty late. Lots of tea and throat candy for me. I hope that I can actually handle 4 and a half hours of class on Monday and my voice won’t go to hell.
On a better note the new Leonard Cohen CD came and the two Sandman comics. Leonard Cohen CD is so good. So good. And the booklet has lyrics – such poetry. His songs gain more meaning the more one listens to them. I have a feeling this CD will be on my rotation over and over for a while.
Question: does anyone know how I can take a PDF of a book (one of Google e-books) and make a PDF of only the first 43 pages? I tried converting to Mobi format through Calibre but the conversion didn’t work well.
Grimm S1E10 The writers are so doing it on purpose! The whole Monroe and Nick scenes are just a slasher dream. Complete with a romantic dinner date with wine where Monroe complains that all Nick wants to talk about is work! And his favorite color red and they get to talk about various private parts as aphrodisiacs. I think I giggled through the whole scene. And he came to Monroe for advice on how to break it to Juliet – the show is actually having good conversations and is not ignoring the reality of the situation. I also love how Nick is being all Grimm tonight when threatening creatures. They way he ordered the pharmacy guy to start selling and got the clinic woman to talk. He is certainly settling into the role. And he technically killed a monster today by pushing her into the fire – although as soon as I saw he was near the fire, I knew where that was heading. But the rest of the plot was not nearly as predictable although we figured out the clinic much earlier. I’m glad Juliet has something to do and the show actually had two female characters talking today. The Captain is a badass and I don’t think he is really a villain. Today’s episode was certainly the grimmest case yet, with all the organ harvesting and that bird pecking the eyes out – I couldn’t not watch that. They are not shying away from difficult subjects.

I wondered if the show was going to have him truly follow in the Grimm family footsteps or if he was going to be a new breed of Grimm, as it were. I like the progression of the character so far and am looking forward to what happens next.

I've been wondering about this! His back story definitely has my interest piqued.

Yeeeuuuck! I'm a little squeamish about that kind of thing, and I have to cover my eyes a lot for stuff like this. Eeek!
