bearshortyMonday will be my busiest day this semester. First I teach “Global History” from 1 to 2:30 and then my “Sex, Power, and Identity in Europe to 1800” from 3 to 6. I do give them the fifteen minute break in the three hour class but it is still a lot of talking. My throat definitely needs some rest tonight.
The classes themselves went pretty well. I’m really liking the library room for Global class. Really good atmosphere. The powerpoint is a bit skewed but it works and so does the video. We talked about Luther today and will talk about Henry VIII and also religious wars on Wednesday. The seminar went fine too – I did have to reassure them that while we talked about theory today – the rest of the semester will be about actual history. We’ll see. They do participate but not heavily about the readings yet. But I did a three hour class today! Yay.
House S8E9 plotline on asexuality is making me really uncomfortable. Why does everything just have to have a sex drive. And just because a married guy for 10 years says he is asexual, it doesn’t mean he is gay, House. And, of course, he has a tumor! And, of course, she is just pretending for him. C’mon show. Why do you have to suck at that. Park is awesome! It was an interesting take on marriage with the caretaker having a boyfriend and no one judging her (except Adams). But House was just so wrong to investigate that situation about asexuality. Foreman solves the case! Chase calling his sister. House is no longer ankle bound. And he thanks Foreman in his House’s way.
