Sherlock S2E2 I don’t like downloading illegally but I do watch if it is uploaded to YouTube. The only Sherlock “The Hounds of Baskerville” I could find this time was in Russian. I would have to rewatch it later in English, of course, but still it is something. Hee. Hyper Sherlock. Russell Tovey – they got a werewolf from “Being Human” (and Alonso) to be in a dog episode – awesome casting. John is not even trying anymore to correct people that they are not a couple. He realizes the uselessness. Seeing Sherlock so scared is unnerving. I have a dog phobia (cynophobia) – this episode is creepier to me because of it. Yay famous line “When you eliminate the impossible..” Sherlock apologized in his own way and later with coffee. John drank it even with sugar (aw) even as Sherlock was really trying to drug him. John in the lab was really suspenseful. Nice scary stuff in a lot of the episode here. Interesting Mycroft ending. Great episode – I liked the adaptation of the story. I read it as a child and saw a movie but I am going to re-read it again.

Here is what typed about it in comments of Mark Watches Review:
“I'm not a fan of horror but I do like suspense horror and it was well done here: both in the forest scenes and in the lab with John.

I loved this episode. I watched many scenes over and over just for dialogue and expressions. I think I watched the scene at the inn/pub when John talks to the innkeeper probably 10 times before moving on. John is not even trying to correct people anymore about their assumptions of being a couple. Hee. I also really liked that John drank the coffee that Sherlock gave me despite commenting on the sugar - he still drank it anyway.

I also found the fireplace scene the best acting Cumberbatch ever done - just the fear in the face and the voice and being unnerved by that fear - it was very powerful.

And I could relate to that fear on another level, I'm afraid of dogs. Normal, regular, not just gigantic hounds. I had this phobia since I was a child. And no, it was not part of any bad dog encounter, I was just always afraid of dogs. This got better with age but I will still cross the street if I see a dog ahead of me and dogs without a leash can send me into panic mode. Luckily, that phobia never translated into pictures of dogs or TV or movie dogs - so I was not as scared of this episode as I could have been. But seeing Sherlock's fear I could really understand it on a panic attack level since that would so be my reaction - that was well portrayed. And, of course, for Sherlock it was more than fear of the animal - it was fear of having emotions and responding illogically all of a sudden that unnerved him more.

Mycroft and Moriarty scene at the end is intriguing.

Right before bed I read the short story which next episode is based on “The Final Problem.” That was rather an interesting presentation of Moriarty and Holmes’ death. Watson never sees anything, there is never a body. No wonder Conan Doyle could revive him when he wanted to write these again.

My headphones finally gave in; good thing I bought a spare a few month ago. But it was in that stupid annoying ridiculous plastic shell casting that makes me want to hit something. I think it took me over 10 minutes trying to open it with scissors. Seriously, who comes up with this stuff? The most annoying packaging ever and induces rage. Maybe it was Crowley from “Good Omens” – it seems like his kind of thing :) .
