bearshortyGrading, grading and grading. I did a lot today, alternating Paper 5 with the final exams. Many students really buy into ‘traditional’ roles of men and women crap. That colors a lot of their ideas and inhibits the arguments. Paper 5 was either very good or their ideas just weren’t sophisticated enough. There were a few “A” though, which made me happy. Many got structure down at least. Now in expos they will just need ideas, which will be tough for many. Got a lot done today.
It was Sasha’s 30th b-day and we got to talk to him on Skype today. He is back to work after his hospital stay and is feeling much better. I can’t believe he is thirty. I reminded him that I have half a year to go at least. Hee. His voice and intonation are now so similar to my uncle (his dad) it is really weird. Now it is his son and nephew running around and being loud in the background instead of us. I just remember when I spent every New Years at his house when we were kids and us being crazy. I miss it.
“How I Met Your Mother” was my only real break today. That show was making smoking cool and it always just fun to see.
