Dec. 19th, 2011 11:00 pmSemester is done – last grading finished. There was a little drama with the grades. I was supposed to enter them online but the Registrar cut that off at 1pm. So while I got one class in, I didn’t have time for another. They did accept fax, though. So I ended up typing the list of names with grades, emailing it to Papa’s work so he would fax it, calling the registrar and later emailing them the list again. Argh. At least it is all done and no grading for a whole month.
But, of course, I’m already excited for the readings in my writing class next semester. I worked on the syllabus for next semester and preparing the Close Reading Assignment now.
My first reading will be Nicholas Carr’s “Is Google Making Us Stupid? What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains.” The article will have nice complex examples and I’m sure my students will just simplify his arguments. Maybe I should send them to look at the comments on the article.
