Part 4: Friends and get togethers and presents and awesomeness

I am mostly at home in the summer but I do have occasional outings and social events. After the musical on June 8, Bear and I took the train to his parents’ house and the next day, my parents came to visit. Since his parents came to my house in January, this was the return invite. I thought that it went pretty well. Bear took out archery stuff for the backyard, since I know my Mom likes to shoot things – and this was the first time she tried archery. We all also went into the local little village to see the scenery and then parents and I drove home.

Bear and I also spent the day in the city when we had to meet with the rabbi and the priest. We went to see “Prometheus” and walked around for maybe an hour and a half. We just missed the last UN tour. And for the first time ever I tried Korean food – I had a rice bowl. Very delicious. I want to be more adventurous with food.

And the last June outing was for Galya’s 1st birthday party in Central Park on June 23. I met Bear at the train station and we sat in the park for a bit before everyone else made it. (I always show up early and everyone else takes at least 45 minutes to an hour more. But I can’t help it and usually plan ahead.) We had a great picnic. Marianna had a great time opening Galya’s presents. I think the ball I got was hit and I hope Galya will enjoy her blocks.

And, of course, the fireworks and ice cream in the park listening to music was a great way to cap June.

Oh, and I also went strawberry picking with my parents. My Mom made a lot of preserves.

Other awesomeness of June was a fabulous author asking me if she could timestamp one of my Highlander stories for the upcoming fest. Very exciting!

Also I got “Sherlock Season 2” DVD from Medusa and “Arizona travel book” and “Perks of Being a Wallflower” from Bear’s parents for my birthday.

Part 5: links

And finally the last June post, now that’s July is a third over. The plan is to actually catch up this week. Hopefully.

This post is just a few links I found interesting in June.
