This week the weather is nice and crispy. I do love fall. I get to wear my fall jacket and my green scarf from Barnes and Noble that I love. But this morning it was a little too cold in the house for me. My throat is a bit scratchy like my body can’t seem to decide whether to have a cold or back off. Hopefully, it will sort itself out by this weekend so I can fast and then go to our big gathering on Sunday.

Today was one of the easiest teaching days since the students were just discussing Turkle for their midterm. I assigned groups last time to cover sections of the essay and present to the class, so they broke down the article. I can’t help them, so my job is to sit there and listen and write things down for next time. In my second class, where the reading comprehension seems to be higher many students actually said that reading Turkle and her ideas on technology, authenticity and connections made them rethink Gladwell. That made me very happy, since that is the whole point of the class: to have them think of one article in terms of ideas in another.

I worked on my Rise of the Church lecture for my law class. It will basically be Investiture Controversy lecture. I dug out my book of primary sources so I can read them nice passages in class like Henry IV’s very nasty letter to Gregory.

Due to success of Lion King, Disney is releasing “Beauty and the Beast” in 3D in movie theaters January. Since it is one of my favorite stories (a brown haired, brown eyed girl who loves books and gets a library as a present – what is not to like) I definitely want to see it on the big screen.
