We never have milk in our house, so when I’m visiting somewhere that has milk (and Bear can’t live without his milk and cereal) I usually make scrambled eggs for breakfast.
In the afternoon we went to visit Bear’s grandma and played cards with her. Then we drove to a county park and went on a little hike. We couldn’t stay long since Bear’s parents were having a Labor Day Weekend barbeque and Bear’s brother and his girlfriend were coming over. Way too much food. It was nice, thought. We did leave at 8:30 to go to a movie. There is an art house that plays independent movies and has various film festivals and they were playing “Circumstance” which Bear was interested in. So we had a date.
“Circumstance” It was a good movie. We both liked it (saying ‘enjoyed it’ feels wrong since it is about a heavy subject). It was well done with good acting and it certainly provokes a discussion. It is an Iranian movie and two girls and the earning to be free.
It reminded me of ‘Eyes Wide Open’ a bit. “Eyes Wide Open” is a small Israeli movie I saw on Netflix last week about a married Orthodox Jewish man who fell in love with his male apprentice and the intolerance of fundamentalist way of life. In this movie, I felt that the lesbian relationship between the two main characters was actually incidental. Mostly it was about fundamentalist religion, oppression of women and how extremism can grow in everyday situations. And many parts were hard to watch. I am very glad I was not born into any fundamentalist religion.
