SYTYCD Top 14 Perform

Cat is looking pretty as always in high ponytail and Japanese inspired dress. Let’s do this. Travis is on the judging panel! Mary is orange! And Carmen Electra for some reason. New choreographers today.

Boys group – first time choreographer – 7 stages of grief after unfaithful girlfriend – shock, anger, denial, depression, guilt, bargaining, acceptance - for 7 dancers - Damien Rice song – nice. Wow, that was really good.

Marko/Melanie jazz – so basically Romeo and Juliet dance. Americano by Lady Gaga – I love that song. My eyes were always on Melanie. It was fine as a dance but I don’t if it will be memorable. Cat is a wonderful host to rescue Marko there.

Sasha/Alexander – hip-hop – the movement is nice and fluid. Cute enough. The tree on stage is random.

Jordan/Tadd – waltz – Jordan is growing on me. Siren story – nice. That’s a lot of smoke. Nice lifts. Very dream like. Tadd is excellent outside his comfort zone.

Clarice/Jess – contemporary – interesting movement certainly. I like this couple more this week – they are doing well now, I think they got more interesting.

Ashley/Chris – salsa – it was fine. I think they may go home, though.

Ryan/Ricky – jazz – again it was fine but not something I would remember next week.

Caitlynn/Mitchell – Mandy Moore’s contemporary- I was not expecting that but this routine really came together well with leaps and music and everything. I agree with the judges that it was the best one of the night.

Girl’s dance – nice fun routine

Travis is giving very specific critique – he is a good judge actually. He should be on more. And Mary was specific on the waltz too. All dancing is nice again, nothing stands out too much except the last one. I really like having new choreographers. I think Ashley and Chris are going home this week. Top 10 this year are hard to predict.

I really like the addition of all boys and all girls dance to the performance show as it cuts down on filler.
