bearshortyThis morning I went to turn in the last of the lab work. Hopefully, no more after this.
Today I went to visit Marianna and her baby in Queens. Since the blanket was all done, I didn’t want to put it off. It takes a long time to get there but it was really nice to see her and Adama and little Galya. She is now two weeks old and when she is not sleeping or eating she likes to follow her mobile with her eyes and she even listens when you read to her. At one point (well a couple of times) I actually watched her for a bit while Marianna and Adama went downstairs in their building to do the laundry. I read to her some Russian rhymes (because it is never too early to introduce a baby to books and the written word) and then gave her a pacifier when she became fussy. I never really was around babies before so it was interesting. I discovered that when the baby cries, it doesn’t really bother me – I don’t get stressed about it, which is good since then it doesn’t stress the baby. I just try to figure out what the baby needs instead. I still can’t picture looking after a baby all the time but Marianna got a handle on it now.
I got home at 10 with a slight travel headache so I should just go to sleep. I need to pack tomorrow and actually get ready for my vacation.
