100F Outside. Inside day again.
SYTYCD Top 20 get chosen and exhibition.
Live blogging: Cat! And Studio! I still miss the old one. Nice routines! Please don’t have that choice between two sisters – which they will. Well, at least they didn’t save them for last. Virgil is too short for this probably; that’s why they cut him. Professor vs Robert – ah, show what are you doing! Tough choice. 4 hip-hop guys – that is a big number. Chorus line of buckness! Lil C and his alliterations, nice. There are so few ballroom dancers – both Russian at pick time. And one did not make it. Only one ballroom dancer at all this season; it is sad. Two dancers who are 30! Nigel is just have to get used to Mary again. Can’t they put names up when dancers come up, I need to remember who is who at this point and how to spell their names. I don’t think I have a favorite this season yet but I want to see more of Nick. Girls are being pushed more this year by Nigel. I think he wants a boy to win this year.
First impressions:
Girls:
1. Miranda – didn’t show much of her, so not sure about her yet
2. Melanie – sure shot, pixie girl who impressed everyone in the auditions
3. Sasha – excellent dancer throughout auditions and Vegas, looking forward to her
4. Ivetta – I love her, she should have made it in earlier seasons. Yes! She is World Champion too in ballroom.
5. Clarice – jazz, seems interesting but don’t know much about her.
6. Jordan – her audition was that way over the top but she is ok otherwise. She is 18? She seems older.
7. Missy – don’t know much about her at all. She looks like 13.
8. Caitlyn – again, Nigel points that she was a favorite but we never saw anything of her. We’ll see.
9. Ashley – don’t know much of her.
10 Ryan – I kind of expected this. I’m not too invested yet.
Boys
1. Ricky – lovely boy, sweetie
2. Chris – seems enthusiastic
3. Wadi – he impressed in Vegas
4. Tadd – loved his audition
5. Robert – his enthusiasm is so catching!
6.Marko – guy with the bullet. Nice dancer.
7. Jess – Broadway guy, he is still a bit young and he is not Evan but he could be fun. He will do characters well but might be on that line of annoying.
8. Nick – how come we never seen this tapper – he is interesting. I want to see more.
9. Mitchell – again, don’t remember him. We’ll see.
10. Alexander – don’t remember him. I’m glad it is not Jeremiah.
Routines
1. Stacy Tucci’s contemporary - 3 girls, one guy - interesting. My eyes went to Melinda. Ricky is nice too. Good spins and lines. I need more of a story to contemporary to appreciate it.
2. Dave Scott’s hip-hop – 4 male hip-hop dancers. Really fun to watch.
3. Jason Gilkison – Pasha! This routine just made me so happy! I can watch them dance all day.
4.Sonya’s jazz – I love Sonya but this routine did not stood for me. Nor did the dancers.
5. Broadway – great routine – a lot of fun to watch. Good character work.
6.more contemporary Travis’s this time - they are featuring Ryan from the girls. Again, with contemporary I need a story.
7. Top 10 guys hip-hop – Christopher Scott – with contemporary elements. Cute. I liked the pirouettes in the middle.
8.Top 10 girls jazz- Sonya, yay. – Creepy geisha girls! Nice.
9. Tyce’ Top 20 number.
I chose my prompt for RSGames today. Just like I knew it would work – one poem/song stood out and I could see the story in my head. Well, more the mood of it and that it will a contemplation piece. A journey of grieving, probably, but a hopeful one. I need to let it ruminate in my brain more. There is another Remus story that has been sitting in my head I need to write first.
