Mar. 19th, 2011 11:00 pm historyteachers channel on YouTube is awesome. Thanks
somnolentblue for the tip. I like Black Death video set to "Hollerback Girl" and William the Conqueror set to "SexyBack".
Sometimes when I get new songs I play them on a loop. This week I got two songs. “This Night” by Black Lab (because it was in that great opening of a House episode with the bull) and “Friday Night” by Lily Allen. I just kept playing the latter song over and over today, it is fun to dance too and it cheers me up for some reason.
Today I went to dinner with the girls and our significant others (except for Janna’s husband who had to work). After planning for Italian but due to last minute hassle because of reservations we picked a new place - a Senegalese restaurant on 119st that Marianna and Adama always go to. It was good (I had chicken kebab with plantains) and fun as usual to see everyone. I met Bear at Penn station and then we took the subway up to Harlem. Marianna is almost seven month pregnant now; the time is passing so fast. While she was not planning on a baby shower until the baby was born in the traditions of both Russian and Malian culture, her sister decided to have throw her one in early May. So that should be fun. I got home about midnight, after taking three separate subway trains and a bus.
