bearshortyToday I taught my history students how to write a history paper. I adopted some handouts from my writing classes and we went over how to structure a paper (introduction, thesis, body paragraphs with quotes, conclusion), how to use quotes and how to cite. And I made try to cite their sourcebook in class – some find citation format incredibly hard even with the handout in front of them.
So I spent the morning putting all the handouts together and finding an article for Ancient Greece to put online for them. I settled on the article on ideas of leisure and idleness in Ancient Greece.
House S7E11 Ethical decisions are really great drama. That was an excellent episode. Everyone’s moral dilemmas with no easy answers, Cuddy’s, House’s, his team, Taub’s and Martha’s. I liked the slow pacing and grey colors, made it seem more dire. And, of course, it mattered that the patient was Cuddy’s mother. And both House and Cuddy went so far out line that I think the show should really address consequences.
