bearshortyI get to Local College early on Mondays so I get to be super productive and that is always a good way to start the week.
In the morning and during office hours I:
1. read the primary sources for Ancient India for the class that day (not that the students did, I made one class actually read one source in class for five minutes; somehow they read more if they print the source from online class website than from the book)
2. read and commented on one section of Close Reading Assignments for my writing classes
3. came up with Peer Review Sheet for Tuesday that better reflects the grading criteria for the class
4. emailed students and printed things
Then I went to get lunch and as much as I wanted a burger the line took too long. I like the food at the café at Local College but their service is so damn slow. So I had a large soup and French fries again, which is a good lunch actually. I’ll get a burger on Thursday at Uni. I read the Vietnam Caves article from January National Geographic. Those are some nice caves. I like that some flora grows in it because of roof collapse.
The Ancient India lecture went fine. The laptop was not connecting to the screen for Powerpoint so I called IT in. Then really couldn’t help. Thankfully the school laptop in the room did connect (different connections) so I used my flash drive for Powerpoint. I give the same lecture twice but in the second class, students seem to care more so it feels like a better lecture. My first class is more there because they have to be.
I planned to do more in the evening but I really couldn’t. I was just too tired. And nothing on tv.
