Bear and I went on a “Walking Dunes” hike this afternoon. There was little wind today. It was still cold but tolerably cold and it was actually great for walking through still winter landscape. The hike is near a harbor area and the sand dunes move all the time and slowly are talking over trees and bogs. The landscapes were very pretty. At one point we stood on top of a sand cliff with forest on the bottom.

Before dinner we also went for a swim in the hotel’s indoor heated pool. Swimming is usually a summer activity for me so this felt odd. But it really feels like a vacation now. And, of course, it is over tomorrow.

We also finally saw “Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” the Nicholas Cage movie that came out earlier this year. I’ve been sort of interested in this movie because Jim Butcher commented that the type of magic in this movie can fit in Dresden universe. I was not expecting much but it was a fun movie actually. Good story and funny in dialogue. (Does not pass the Bechdel test but at least the girl characters, who yes were love interests, were doing things and were important to the story and did not sit on the sidelines too much.) Very suitable for both Nic Cage and Alfred Molina. And they did a live sequence of Fantasia’s “apprentice” scene. Very cute.

I really like that first picture.

I think I will put Sorcerer’s Apprentice on my netflix. I wasn't sure about it when I saw previews.
