I was doing cross stitch all morning since I was finishing up cross stitch/half-stitch portion I wanted to just keep going until that was done. Now only backstitch details left and French knots. I shall return to it in three weeks.
Bear came over around 12:30 to hang out for the day. We went for a walk, since it was nice and sunny and then had some lunch. I know I’m going to see him in three weeks and that is nothing, timewise, for us, but I’m going to be half-way across the world and I wouldn’t be able to talk to him on the phone every day. So the whole day I was a bit clingy and just wanted to bask a bit. It is probably also because flying makes me nervous.
I showed him “Community” episode about paintball which was a great parody of action movies and then we watched “Sherlock Holmes”.
I expected to like “Sherlock Holmes” but I was really bored watching it. We put on subtitles to understand the dialogue. I mean, usually, movies like this entertain me. And I liked the main characters. But the story itself was just boring in plot, I guess. I really fails the Bechdel test, and yes, I realize it is a boy movie. And Irene Adler and Mary, Watson’s fiancé, were actually great and fun characters but couldn’t they meet and have any kind of conversation. Also “as you know” speech at the end was really funny as Holmes was explaining the plot to the main villain who did all of it and, of course, knew all about it. I can hand wave it as Holmes needing to show off his intelligence but still that was silly.
Bear and I also went for a walk before dinner to the nearly beach and surrounding area which recovered nicely from a fire last year.
We also watched “Friends” episode about when they all turned 30 (I wanted to watch in on my actual birthday but I won’t be home). It feels weird to watch it now and be this age.
“Brothers and Sisters” Season finale. I knew that Robert would die in this episode but that was still very hard to watch. And poor Saul. I don’t think the writers know what to do with him so they opted for AIDS storyline. This whole episode was depressing, they were all in such grumpy mood. At least we know what Narrow Lake has now – actual lake as in lots of deep underground water. I thought they would kill off Holly too. They still might. That car crash was very well shot. Well, next season we skip a year and I don’t know if it is a good thing or not.
