I just finished my first book of the year. It was The Poisoned Crown by Maurice Druon, Book 3 of 7 in Accursed Kings series. It is really fun and easy read and I really enjoyed it. I would have read it faster but I've had to read articles for work, and read them carefully since I have to teach them. I read a really awesome article by Tim Wu on Net Neutrality, Apple vs. Google. I really want to teach it since it is not only very relevant but it really made me understand the issue clearly. The article is called "Father and Son" and it is a selection from the book The Master Switch: The Rise and Fall of Information Empires . I kind of want to read the whole book at some point. I mean, he explains clearly what World Wide Web really is as opposed to the Internet and the differences between the philosophies of Google and Apple. And he is a really good writer.

Tanya has been having a much better bedtime since Thursday, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she will keep it up. She goes to bed at 7:30 and for the last few days, despite some crying, she is asleep by 8:15, often just waking up for very brief periods for just a tiny bit of reassurance. She wakes up to eat twice but has been managing longer in the morning by herself too. And with better bedtime, I can actually have a little time to myself.

Last night I managed to watch the second half of S6E1 of Glee and the whole of S6E2. It is the only show I like to watch live because I got ridiculously emotionally invested in it despite the terrible quality of many storylines. I'm just a giant Klaine shipper and just want to see the happily ever after that is coming soon.

Cooking of the week: getting better at making yams in the oven - the trick is cutting them up into smaller pieces, I think. I also make cauliflower casserole, turkey cutlets and cranberry muffins. Next week I want to try my new slow cooker.
