Last week of May, 2013 (May 27-31)
May. 31st, 2013 11:11 pmI actually turned on the air conditioner today. I love summer and the heat but it sometimes gets too hot even for me. Yesterday was hot too, but there was more wind and I even spent some time outside. Today, Papa and I went to visit my Grandfather, since it was his birthday, and near their building on Coney Island there was such a nice wind: that's the kind of weather that is perfect.
On Monday, Bear, Medusa and I went to Central Park for the day and the weather was just gorgeous. Blue skies and about 72F. It was such a nice, relaxing day to lie around in the park and have lunch there with ice-cream. We also stopped by Teavana to get some tea (I'm into Roiboos teas lately) and went to delicious Japanese for dinner (with cocktails). I had great lobster roll. It was really the best way to spend Memorial day.
On Tuesday, after I said goodbye to Medusa at the train station, I went to meet my friend Olia for lunch. We've been trying to coordinate for a bit to meet up. It was rainy day and cold and I was without an umbrella. We went to this sandwich place (I brought half the sandwich home for Bear).
On Wednesday, Bear left for work and he won't be back until Monday. This week is the most busy one at his work and, since he finishes late, it is easier for him to sleep at his parents' house. Good thing is this is the last week for a long while that he has to work late and keep to this schedule and I will actually see him everyday again. Bad thing is, this important week always happens at the end of May/early June and he will miss my birthday.
On Wednesday, I also went to Yeva's graduations in the city. She is getting a Masters in Nursing as a Family Practitioner. I went over Yeva's place around 4, wearing a dress and everything. I did take my heels with me to change into later, so I didn't have to walk in heels for 25 minutes to her apartment. Yeva and I drove in to the city, where I met up with Yeva's Mom and brother while Yeva went to line up. The graduation was in a pretty famous building, which was fun. Graduation itself was pretty boring as many are - all the speeches. But I did have Yeva's iPhone to play with and I did get to cheer for her and took pictures when she went across that stage. After the ceremony, we all went to a cafe for a very late dinner where we all got crepes. I got mushroom, spinach and goat cheese crepe and it was very delicious.
I've been binging on "West Wing" in the last few days. I'm in the beginning of Season 7 now. I really liked Season 6 and now 7 - I likes the shift in the focus on the show and it is adding to wanting to see more. Definitely better than earlier seasons. I'm going to be done by next week.
