Dec. 17th, 2011 10:34 pm“Morozko” was on TV this morning and I watched a bit with breakfast. It is one of my favorite Russian children’s movies and it has all kinds of folk tale creatures and Santa and it is a silly fun movie. Mystery Science once did a show on it – which was puzzling to me since the movie is aimed at children and therefore has many ridiculous things for a reason and making fun of those intentionally silly things seems pointless and not interesting.
I finally got to visit my grandparents after more than a month of business. And I went to the bank. And they did take $13 for a $200 wire transfer into my account, which seems really stupid to me. It is not like that costs actual money.
My bedroom floor if usually neatly littered with papers from the semester – assignments, rough drafts, useless mail (I don’t have much storage room so it piles during semester, in a nice slowly growing row). This evening I went through post-semester cleaning rituals which results in a hefty recycling bag and ability to see the floor. It always feels good. I think it took me about an hour.
