Dec. 15th, 2011 11:00 pmWhen I get into the grading week with so much to grade I generally wake up early and can’t fall asleep as much. So I get about 5-6 hours usually. I will need to so catch up on sleep this weekend.
Highlander Holiday Shortcuts started posting their annual holiday exchange. New Highlander fic makes for a nice distraction.
I didn’t even realize it was Golden Globes time when I saw the nominations today. I’m not really interested in most of those movies. This year has been so bad for movies. I really enjoyed “X-Men: First Class” and “Harry Potter” but those never get nominated.
So today was a first for me. For the first time in my 31 and a half years I have color in my hair. I got highlights today. Light brown ones (my hair is dark brown naturally). I finally decided to do it – too much gray hair. It cost $110 +$15 in tips + two hours in the hairdressers – being a girl is silly sometimes. I don’t know how women do this every few months. I definitely will not spend so much that often in one year. I’d rather spend the money on books. I’m just not a girly girl. It feels weird. I sent a picture to Yeva since she’s been telling me to do this for the longest time and she couldn’t believe it! It feels really weird to look in the mirror.
I did use the two hours productively and managed to grade some final exams while the highlights set in. And I graded until about 1am. Folder review tomorrow – the most stressful day ever since I really have to finish up all the Writing Program papers. At least I got exams done and a big chuck of the papers.
