So after a timely email from a student I actually checked my schedule to see that I’m teaching a more modern Global History course. I thought it was the same one I’ve been teaching for a year, but no. And I’m shaky on the modern. I do have a nice textbook and I will use January to catch up but this is still a bit unsettling for a minute – coming up with the lectures. Good thing Abena is teaching another section of the class so I will shamelessly ask her for help. On the other hand, I am looking forward to something new and I am good on early modern- modern European history and some Atlantic and others through women and gender minor.

All Amazon and photo orders came already. Pretty quickly too. I ordered Amazon stuff on Monday night with just ordinary free shipping. And I like having physical photos for my photo album.

Galina and Olya are visiting again so we get to have evening chats. I showed them my photos because they are so in love with little Galya and her pictures. They are coming to New York for depressing medical stuff, which really sucks, but I am always glad to see them.
