Not much happened today. I don’t even know where the day went. I did finally go to the bank to deposit my check – I kept forgetting to do it.

Papa’s cousin Lenya came over to set up his new Kindle (Papa is the Kindle expert around here. He knows about the program which converts everything into Kindle format so you don’t even need to make PDFs and he advocates it for everyone. And websites where there are a lot of free Russian books). Lenya brought over Edik (short for Edward), his five year old son. The kid had an insatiable knowledge of a five year old. His Dad instilled love of knowledge and reading in him from very early age. One of the games he wanted to play with Mama and I was a quiz game where he tested us on the largest country in the world and dinosaurs and other knowledge. I showed him my Historical Atlas since he wanted to know more about Christopher Columbus and he knows countries better than my college students. And I was very impressed that when he came over he remembered the flying cow toy I have from six month ago. The kid is just adorable.

Medieval universities next week – I can’t wait to teach that. I’ve been reading the Brundage chapter and remembering all the fun information.
