Dec. 25th, 2010 10:29 pmMerry Christmas to all who celebrate it!

This morning Bear and I made Christmas breakfast, our yearly tradition. Bear makes pancakes and bacon and I make scrambled eggs and sausages. I put syrup over everything, although reading the syrup ingredients for the first time and realizing it is pretty much corn syrup means this will be the last year I will use this syrup. It was all very delicious.
In the afternoon we went over his Grandma’s nursing home and had a little celebration there. We gave her presents and then we did some crafts. (well, she napped for most of it, she is 93). We made these tree angels that were really very silly.
We didn’t open presents until after 5:30, after having some appetizers. I got Bear Dante’s “Inferno”, two wrestling DVDs and 1979 “All Quiet on the Western Front.” He is getting one more present on New Year.
My Christmas Loot:
1. Highlander CD – music from the series. This was Bear’s present to me. I wanted it for the singer of Bonny Portmore
2. “Autobiography of Mark Twain: Volume I” by Mark Twain I didn’t realize how ginormous this book was. I was really looking forward to this since I read early reviews. We had to wait 100 years since his death to finally see this and it is really a great edition with lots and lots of notes. And since I’m reading the second book of Riverworld where Sam Clemens is the main character, this is extra awesome timing.
3.“Lavinia” by Ursula Le Guin.
4. Greenish sweater
5. Greenish scarf
6. purple slippers I have light blue slippers with Snoopy on it and I’m not ready for new ones but it is always good to have an extra pair
7. flying cow that moos
The only disappointing thing about this Christmas is the news of the coming Blizzard tomorrow since that means I have to go back home early tomorrow morning and not stay an extra day. And Bear not having BBCAmerica so I couldn’t watch Doctor Who Christmas special. YouTube only had the first part up, at least my house should have onDemand. (I don’t like to download illegally). Still, it was a nice day.
