My students had a mixed reaction to Kamber’s essay. They liked it as a story but where confused by the way he went from personal story to personal story. We really had to go over the essay paragraph by paragraph to see why Kamber was giving examples of all these people. I’m really worried for these kids next semester when they have to take a writing class with more complicated reading assignments. I will have to try to do more about the readings then. Maybe more close readings.

I was very tired by the time I got to the second class and after I got home my brain shut down too. And I just wanted chocolate all evening. Luckily, I rediscovered that Bear’s Mom gave me Nutella on Halloween to take home with me. Yay, chocolate.
