Jun. 18th, 2010 11:00 pmToday is a Bear day since Bear came over for the day. So I got a nice relaxing time with him. We read another Russian story called “Masha and the Bear” about a girl who gets lost in the woods, stumbles into a bear’s house and ends up being his servant. He mainly wants someone to cook for him. To escape, she has to come up with a clever plan. She asks the bear to bring baked goods to her grandparents and hides in the bottom of the basket. It helps that the bear is a bit dumb as he believes she is watching from up high so he won’t open the basket himself. The pictures in the big also give this bear very silly expressions.
We went rollerblading in the afternoon and went all the way to the pier, much further than I usually go (I go to the turtle statue and back and then just circle in the parking lot). It was fun to go further and I just felt very happy with a nice blue ocean, a sunny day, and rollerblading with Bear.
We went home to cook dinner – my parents went to a concert, and therefore I could use the kitchen. I made spaghetti and heated up some spicy sausages which we had with peas and Russian sauerkraut. I eat much faster than Bear, so that actually works well, since I have time to wash up and talk to him at the same time and when he finishes eating all he has to do was dry all the dishes.
After dinner, we watched “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” on Wii (Netflix). Nice movie, very colorful. There is only one girl character (there are a few minor ones without names) but at least she is a nerd and the main character really liked that and preferred her hair in a ponytail and wearing glasses. I think I expected more of the movie but we still had a nice time watching it.
BP coffee spill – some humor must be found even in terrible situations.
Minsk photos came today. Now I have to choose the ones to put in my album – I tried not to print too many and still ended up with lots and lots.
