1 Tammuz/13 June, 2010
Jun. 13th, 2010 11:00 pmWhile Bear went running in the morning (which takes a whole morning) I went on the internet. I was mostly updating my blog about my Minsk trip and then I just read various recaps. I was also
watching Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro” video just to see Mark, from Season 4 SYTYCD, dance in it. I could id him just from his movement. He is certainly the most unique SYTYCD dancer.
Bear made me lunch – a sandwich with sausages and we went to visit his grandmother for a bit. I was wearing my new red with white polka dots dress. I do like dressing more girly lately and the addition of dresses/skirts in my wardrobe in the last five years is an interesting development. We had a really nice visit and took grandma into the garden for a while. I gave her the present from Minsk which she seemed to like.
In the evening, there was Bear’s early birthday party/early Father’s Day with his family (Bear was born on Father’s Day and his family always celebrates both at the same time) and I got a candle on a mini cake too and some presents from his parents. I got a five-CD pack of classical music and a few books, including that collection of stories by Philip K. Dick that I put on Amazon wishlist. Right at the start of the party I was also showing Minsk pictures to everyone. Laurie, Bear’s de facto sister-in-law, gave me honey from their own bees. She was telling us how she and Bear’s brother were making the honey the day before and that was really interesting.
Right after dinner Mama called that Papa had a fever again and she asked me to come home tonight, instead of tomorrow morning, so after a delicious desert of apple pie (his Mom makes the most amazing apple pie) Bear drove me home. We were doing some Russian vocab in the car to pass the time and cracking up a lot on mishearing of one translation. I was afraid that we would laugh too much and that wouldn’t be good driving-wise.
