This is from Charles Stross’s website and this concluding statement is funny and deserves to be quoted: “In summary: I am not a precious sparkly unicorn who is obsessed with the purity of his characters — rather, I am a glittery and avaricious dragon who is jealous of his steaming pile of gold. If you do not steal the dragon's gold, the dragon will leave you alone. Offer to bring the dragon more gold and the dragon will be your friend.”
I watched SyFy’s “Alice” on DVD tonight. It was amusing and I do like the concept. In the first half Alice was just reacting to everything and seemed a little uncertain. The boys are still manipulating everything and save her more times that she should be. I’m glad she can fight and save others sometimes too but still she is a pawn in Jack’s plan, really. The second part drags a bit but at least Alice gets to make decisions and be all heroic. The main actress didn’t really have chemistry with any ‘love interests,’ it wasn’t that believable to me. She was much better with her father. And must all girls have daddy issues? GGI throughout is a bit silly but I like the sets and the atmosphere. And it was great to see Kathy Bates and Colm Meaney. I liked it but I’m sure if I would watch it again. 4 out of 5 for me.
