Nov. 18th, 2009 10:17 pmI have more emails than usual from students; they really had a hard time with the essay. Many couldn’t get the question, even if it really just asks them if Pollitt is right or wrong. They are just not ready to actually think. We’ll see how the rough draft day goes.
I watched “The Proposal” with Sandra Bullock. The main storyline was pleasantly interesting and not that clichéd. The movie was just horrible at subplots and some “comedy” they tried to do. But for a romantic comedy it was pretty good.
SYTYCD Top 14 results show. The show opened with Wade and Amanda Robson’s art gallery figures dance. As usual, brilliant. The cable was a going a bit nuts and freezing occasionally, though, so I will have to rewatch it. Bottom three were my bottom three, I’m actually glad Nathan and Molly were in the bottom three tonight. Kevin and Channing went home and I’m pleased with that result. Almost at Top 10 – when did this happen?
I went on GLOBAL GIVING website today, recommended by “Half the Sky” book. It is really well designed. You can see exactly what your amount will go to. There are just so many projects, it is a bit overwhelming, in just “Women and Girls” section alone. But I figure, if I can afford $15 every month on a Netflix subscription, I can pay the same to someone who really needs it. And today is the first of the month, a good day to do this as any. So I picked a page and then a project. I figure I can choose a different project every month. Since I believe strongly in education for girls I thought I start with that. For only $16 one girl in Ethiopia can go to school for a month.
