Since Mark Watches started “Battlestar Galactica” and since it is on Netflix instant play – I have been rewatching episodes along with him. There are several shows I watched twice: “Buffy” “Farscape,” “Firefly” (usually with Papa while I introduced those shows to him) so it has been interesting to start this show at the beginning with full knowledge of what to come.
Torchwood S4E5 What was that! That just went to fraked up level of disturbing. Poor Vera. I really liked her. They burn people – people who are technically still alive – very uncomfortable concentration camp parallels here. RTD doesn’t flinch from fraked up. The camp director shooting her just felt so realistic and his whole panic about it. Esther continues to be wonderful (I just love her and she is much more competent than she sees herself, I like Jack trying to make her see it and their scene on the beach) and Jack continues to be funny and a screen presence. Pretending to be Rex’s concerned loving boyfriend was excellent and messing with him by talking to Vera. I also loved Gwen’s and Rhys’s reunion flirting. Jack being all dramatic with Danes by standing in a shadow was very Jack. Wow, I’m still processing those last few minutes of the episode. This whole series just went up a notch for me.
After Elton's Torchwood Episode 5 in ten minutes
'Leverage' managed another decent episode last week. Maybe this season can be salvaged.
The US credit rating just got downgraded . It is not a good thing obviously but part of me thinks Congress and its stupid ‘negotiations’ of the last few weeks deserve that for putting the interest of their own re-election ahead of actually thinking about people. The whole political shenanigans right now just make me want to shake my head.
