It is never fun waking up at 4:30 in the morning with cramps. And it took me a little time for my brain to realize why my stomach was hurting. I got out of bed to get water and Advil, etc, and was at least amused at myself for momentary brain freeze there.
So I was a bit cranky most of the day and there was no chocolate anywhere in the house!
But at least by evening my mood improved as I got on the train to go have dinner with the girls in the city. Manhattan is so pretty at night, and I rarely get to see it in its full nightly splendor. My friends and I try to get together for dinner once a month or so, and this time we decided on a Turkish place. The food was delicious. We got stuff for the table to share – 4 appetizers, 1 big salad, 2 entrees and 2 deserts for four people. I wanted some lamb shish kebab since I knew we were going to this place, so we ordered it as one of the entrees. It was very delicious. Good place.
In work news, I called Local College to officially confirm that I got those adjunct classes. Last week, I saw that I was on their schedule for next semester but I didn’t have an official word. The secretary was supposed to contact me. Anyway, I get to teach two sections of “global history until 1600” next semester there for very little money but with a lot of excitement. I never taught global history before (Development of Europe I was mostly just about Europe), so I am looking forward to the challenge. I have to go to campus on Thursday for paperwork, but now I can actually think of my book list a bit and work on my syllabus. So, yay.
