Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part II.
I saw the movie this afternoon in 3D. I'm neutral on 3D and I figure I would see this movie again in 2D later. But 3D itself was fine. Certain things were effective in it but I was not paying attention too much to it. The movie theater near me is never crowded and it was actually nice not to have enormous number of people.
I loved the movie. The pacing was great and all my favorite scenes were included. I started tearing up at exact same place as I did with the book: right before Snape died when you knew it was coming and the whole death scene. My chest was hurting from holding all emotions in because I didn't want to bother other people with crying sounds. This movie was really emotionally heart wrenching in many places.
I don't mind any changes from the book; I was always able to separate the books and movies and watch both on their merits - so the last battle worked for me. Voldemort was the most evil in this movie - just walking through corpses was so creepy.
I liked the scene with Ravenclaw ghost, HBC as Hermione was pitch perfect, afterlife King's Cross was so lovely and ethereal, anything with Snape in it was perfect (Snape crying and holding Lily was so well acted - that whole sequence - just amazing).
The forest scene was very effective too - I actually liked the Harry sort of pays attention to his father the least since he knows him the least. He addresses his Mom and Sirius and even Remus and only a little his father - and that detail really worked for me.
They picked a great actor to play Albus Potter - he looked like he could be Dan Radcliffe's kid and the scene between them worked well.
Bear and I had a great date with the movie and then going rollerblading together. I like just sitting on the bench at the end of the route before heading back, looking at the ocean and just chatting. We capped the date by going to have Indian at our usual restaurant and it was delicious as always.
After Elton continues with their hilarious Torchwood: Miracle Day recaps.
