We went to Brooklyn this morning and I was finally able to fix my jewelry chain and get a phone card to tell Sveta about upcoming trip to Minsk. We also visited my grandparents and my grandmother is recovering very nicely, she is walking much better and looks better too.
We also had some Russian food on Brighton and walked a little on the broadwalk but it was much more windy today – back to spring weather.
As I was cross stitching I was listening to the opera CD Bear’s Mom gave me for Christmas. There are two CDs in the set and the second has more famous areas. It was actually a really good CD and very enjoyable. I do love hearing those opera voices, it is amazing that people can sing like that. It just makes me want to go to the opera again.
“The Pacific” Part 2. The miniseries continues to be interesting. The was a bit of humor, with marines taking army stuff. But most of the episode was about John Basilone’s heroic action. Being in the battle is insane. I’m enjoying learning a bit about part of WWII I know very little about.
I was watching CSpan live as Health Care Bill passed the House. It was exciting to watch the numbers go in. President’s compromise on abortion sucks but at least this bill passes. I’m glad Democrats stopped pretending to want bi-partisanship and worked their majority. Nancy Pelosi totally rocks! I hope Democrats can continue to stand their ground.
