Thursday is one day where I don't have to go in to work. Usually it means that I have a lot of grading to do at home but most Thursdays I just take a day off to decompress and grade on the weekends. I need to grade five papers at some point today but right now I'm just relaxing. I had a doctor's check-up appointment today and while I took a bus there, I walked home (It's about 30 minutes walk). That was very nice; I miss walking just because.

So I wanted to cover the TV shows of this Fall season. I am looking forward to January with "Downton Abbey" "Sherlock" "Teen Wolf" and "Community" but for now there are my shows this fall.

1. Agents of SHIELD - I started watching it because it's a Joss Wheadon show and I've seen all his other ones (some more than once) and enjoyed them all. It started out very shaky - like that second episode in the 'jungle' with 'rebels' I'm looking at you, but the last two episodes are very good. And they fleshed out Fitz and Simmons, so now I adore them. Skye is the most annoying, as many have expressed online. But the Team Dynamic is coming along and the stories are too. And when a main character is in jeopardy, since it is a Joss show, the jeopardy feels real. I usually watch this show the next day and I'm unspoiled for it. I don't know much about Marvel characters. So good show so far, I'm going to watch the whole season but I'm not obsessed over it.

2. Supernatural - I'm not a big fan of horror. I rarely watch horror movies. So while a lot of my friends watched this show from the beginning and I saw a lot of internet chatter over the years, I've never really watched it. Since I'm in fandom, I know a lot of little spoilers and a few characters like Crowley and Castiel but most of them out of context - I have no major sense of storyline. I did watch a couple of episodes in the past - there was one where the brothers find out there are books about them and online communities and I want to say one in alternate reality - but again, no major context. It was sort of in the periphery.

But this year I decided to finally pick it up - some chatter sounded interesting. And Mark Watches was going to start watching it this October so I thought I'd finally give it a try. Now, I'm watching Season 9 live when it airs, and at the same time I started Season 1 on Netflix (I know about the music but I don't really care). I'm 9 episodes in on Season 1 - I watch 1-2 episodes per week, mostly because I don't have time and also because it is creepy and there is only so much horror I can do at a time. And in Season 1 there are horror of the week episodes and they are super creepy. I'm not a fan of some gross stuff and have to look away. But I'm enjoying it enough to continue. Just slowly. I'll probably do 2-3 episodes per week to keep up with Mark Watches and I'm assuming at some point I'll pick up the pace.

3. Brooklyn Nine Nine - this was one new comedy I decided to try this season and I'm really enjoying it. I like all the characters and the show is clever and pretty funny. I usually watch it online on Wednesdays.

4. Modern Family - I watched it since the beginning and I mostly watch it out of habit now. It is not as funny as it used to be but it still has its moments and it is nice to watch it online as I eat.

5. Glee - this is my guilty pleasure and the show I'm slightly obsessed with, which is so strange when I start thinking about it. I watched the pilot the spring it aired and a first few episodes but I wasn't a big fan of the first season so I stopped. I watched it occasionally during special episodes. And then I watched an episode in early Season 3 and went back to see the first two seasons and started watching consistently. Now, this is the only show I have to watch live. Have to. I adore Klaine and have a teenager-type crush on Darren Criss. It's kind of fun to feel like a teenage girl at 33, so I embrace it. Most of fanfic I read lately is Glee centric. I'm pretty heavily spoiled for it. I'm ok with it ending after Season 6 but I will enjoy every silly, inconsistent, continuity failing second of it.

6. Grey's Anatomy - I started watching it maybe a two years ago and caught up on it on Netflix. It is mostly a background show but it nice for a Friday night online viewing. I don't even care about the plots that much, I just sort of watch it.

7. Grimm - I like the character interactions on this show and I'm so happy that everyone knows everything now and they can solve cases as a team. And I enjoy that the police on this show actually does police work. I used to like it a little more, it is cooling a bit for me but I'm liking it where it is going right now. And Nick is getting more and more affected by the job which is nice and realistic and subtle and I'm enjoying it.
